2012-11-24: Murray McDavid

Murray McDavid is an independent bottler of single malt Scotch whisky. Its bottlings are usually diluted-strength (rather than cask strength), and blended from multiple casks (rather than being single-cask bottlings). They are not chill-filtered, nor do they have any coloring added.

Murray McDavid was established in 1996. It was founded by Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin, and Gordon Wright (who had previously been a director at Springbank Distillery). To help in giving the company a Scottish identity, it was named after Reynier's grandparents, Harriet Murray and Jock McDavid.

On December 19, 2000, Murray McDavid purchased the then-dormant Bruichladdich distillery and returned it to production.
